Terms & Conditions
StadPaws – Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 26 November 2025
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all orders and use of the website www.stadpaws.com (the “Site”) operated by StadPaws (“StadPaws”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
StadPaws is an online-only brand based in the Netherlands, focused on accessories for indoor cats and small dogs. When you place an order on our Site, you enter into a consumer contract with us and accept these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under EU and Dutch law.
1. Scope & Definitions
1.1 These Terms apply to every offer, order and contract concluded between you and StadPaws via the Site.
1.2 In these Terms:
- Consumer: a natural person who is not acting for purposes relating to a trade, business, craft or profession.
- Products: all goods offered for sale on the Site.
- Distance contract: a contract concluded between StadPaws and a consumer in the context of an organised distance sales system, using only one or more means of distance communication up to and including the moment the contract is concluded (for example, our webshop). (Eur-Lex)
1.3 These Terms are available in English. StadPaws operates under Dutch law and EU consumer rules. If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts remain in force.
2. About StadPaws
StadPaws is an online-only company. We do not operate a physical retail location for walk-in customers.
Contact options
- Email: contact@stadpaws.com
- Contact form: via our website
- Instagram DMs: @stadpawsco
We do not provide a postal address for customer contact; all communication runs digitally.
3. Eligibility to Use the Site
3.1 By placing an order, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old, or you have permission from your parent/guardian to make the purchase; and
- you are acting as a consumer (not buying for resale or wholesale).
3.2 We reserve the right to refuse or cancel orders that appear to be placed by resellers or that otherwise violate these Terms.
4. Products & Information
4.1 We care about design and detail, and we try to present all products as accurately as possible, including colours, materials, dimensions and care instructions. However, minor variations may occur (for example due to screen settings or production batches).
4.2 All product descriptions, images and other content on the Site are for personal use and may not be copied without our permission (see “Intellectual Property” below).
4.3 Obvious mistakes or errors on the Site (for example, a clearly incorrect price or description) do not bind us.
5. Prices, VAT & No Surprises
5.1 All prices shown on the Site:
- are in euros (EUR); and
- include VAT and all mandatory costs, in line with EU and Dutch consumer law. (ICLG Business Reports)
No extra VAT or hidden mandatory fees will be added at checkout. What you see as the product price (including any automatically applied discounts) is the price you pay for the product itself.
5.2 At the moment, we offer free standard shipping for all orders delivered within the Netherlands. This free shipping is already reflected in the total price shown at checkout (no extra shipping cost is added for standard delivery in the Netherlands).
5.3 If we introduce other shipping options (for example express shipping, or shipping to other countries), any associated costs will be clearly shown before you place your order, so you can see the full amount due.
5.4 Promotional prices or discounts may be subject to specific conditions (for example time limits or minimum order value). Any such conditions will be stated clearly.
6. Payments
6.1 We accept online payments via secure payment providers, such as:
- Stripe (including major credit and debit cards supported by Stripe)
- PayPal
- Google Pay
6.2 Payment must be made at the time of ordering. Your order is only final once the payment has been successfully processed.
6.3 Your payment data is processed directly by our payment providers on their secure systems. We do not store your full card number or security code on our own servers.
6.4 If a payment is refused or reversed, we may cancel the corresponding order.
7. How the Contract Is Formed
7.1 All products displayed on the Site are an invitation to order, not a binding offer.
7.2 By clicking “Order”, “Place order” or a similar button at checkout, you submit a binding offer to purchase the selected products under these Terms.
7.3 The contract is concluded when you receive an order confirmation email from us. If you do not receive such an email, please check your spam folder or contact us.
7.4 We may decline an order, for example if:
- the product is out of stock
- the information you provided is incomplete or incorrect
- we suspect misuse, fraud, or wholesale purchasing
If we cannot fulfil an order, we will refund any amounts you have already paid for the affected part of the order.
8. Shipping, Delivery & Risk
8.1 Delivery area
At the moment, we offer free standard shipping to delivery addresses within the Netherlands. If and when we ship to other countries, we will clearly indicate the available destinations and any costs.
8.2 Shipping costs
- Standard shipping within the Netherlands is currently free.
- If other shipping options are offered (such as express delivery), any additional cost will be shown at checkout before you confirm your order.
8.3 Delivery times
Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout or in your order confirmation. These are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates, but we always aim to deliver within a reasonable period after your order is confirmed.
8.4 Delays
If your order is delayed, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible. If delivery is significantly delayed and you no longer wish to receive the order, you may be entitled to cancel under applicable law.
8.5 Transfer of risk
The risk of loss or damage to the products passes to you when they are delivered to you or to a person you designate (other than the carrier), in line with EU consumer rules. (Eur-Lex)
If the parcel arrives clearly damaged, we recommend that you:
-
refuse the parcel where possible, or
-
take photos and contact us as soon as you can so we can help.
9. Your 14-Day Right of Withdrawal (Bedenktijd)
We want city pet parents to have some time to think things over.
9.1 Under EU and Dutch consumer law, you have a legal right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) of 14 days for most online purchases. (eccnederland.nl)
9.2 Your 14-day period starts on the day:
- you (or a person you designate, not the carrier) receive the product; or
- if your order is delivered in multiple shipments, the day you receive the last shipment.
9.3 Within these 14 days you may cancel the contract without giving any reason.
9.4 To exercise your right of withdrawal, please:
- send us a clear statement within the 14-day period (for example by email or via the contact form) that you wish to withdraw from the contract, including your order number; and
- return the products to us within 14 days after informing us of your decision, unless we agree otherwise. (MIMIT)
We will provide you with practical return instructions when you contact us.
9.5 You are allowed to handle the products to the extent necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, as you would in a physical store. If the product has been used more than necessary for this, and its value is reduced, we may charge a reasonable amount for that loss in value.
9.6 Return shipping costs
Unless we clearly state otherwise for a particular product or promotion, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the products to us. These costs are typically the standard parcel rate of your chosen carrier.
9.7 Refund
If you withdraw within the 14-day bedenktijd:
- we will refund all payments you have made for the returned products, including any standard delivery costs for the original shipment (if you paid any),
- within 14 days from the day we are informed of your withdrawal. We may wait with the refund until we have received the returned products or you have provided proof that they have been sent back, whichever is earlier. (European Union)
Refunds are made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless we agree another method with you.
10. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
10.1 The right of withdrawal does not apply, or may be limited, for certain types of products where EU and Dutch law allow exceptions. Examples include: (iubenda)
- custom-made or personalized items that are produced according to your specifications (for example, engraved name tags)
- sealed goods that are not suitable for return for health or hygiene reasons, once opened or used beyond what is necessary to check them
10.2 If a product falls under such an exception, we will clearly mention this on the product page and/or during checkout.
11. Returns Outside the 14-Day Period
11.1 The 14-day bedenktijd is a legal minimum. At this moment, StadPaws offers only this 14-day statutory money-back guarantee, and no extended return period beyond what the law requires.
11.2 After the 14-day period has passed, your rights are governed by the legal guarantee and non-conformity rules under Dutch law (see “Legal Guarantee & Non-Conformity” below).
12. Legal Guarantee & Non-Conformity
12.1 Under EU and Dutch law, products must conform to the contract. This means they must have the qualities you can reasonably expect based on the product description, price and other information provided. (dutchcivillaw.com)
12.2 If a product is defective or does not match the description, please contact us as soon as you discover the problem, ideally with photos and your order details.
12.3 Depending on the situation and in line with the law, you may be entitled to:
- repair of the product, or
- replacement with a new product, or
- a partial refund (price reduction), or
- a full refund if repair or replacement is not possible or reasonable.
12.4 The exact outcome will depend on factors such as the type of defect, how long you have used the product, and what is reasonable given the nature of the product and its normal lifespan.
12.5 Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory warranty rights under Dutch consumer law.
13. Customer Accounts
13.1 You may create an account on our Site to make future orders faster and to view order history. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential.
13.2 If we notice misuse, fraud, or security issues, we may suspend or delete an account where necessary.
13.3 You can ask us to delete your account at any time, subject to our legal obligation to retain some data for tax and accounting purposes.
14. Reviews & User Content
14.1 You may be invited to leave a review of products you purchased. We value honest, respectful feedback.
14.2 By submitting reviews, photos or other content, you grant StadPaws a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to display and use that content in connection with our products and services (for example on the Site or our social channels), unless you ask us to remove it.
14.3 We may remove or not publish content that is unlawful, offensive, misleading, spammy or otherwise inappropriate.
15. Intellectual Property
15.1 All content on the Site, including text, product names, images, logos, design and layout, is owned by or licensed to StadPaws and is protected by intellectual property laws.
15.2 You may use the Site and its content only for personal, non-commercial purposes related to browsing or purchasing StadPaws products.
15.3 You may not copy, distribute, modify, or use our content for other purposes without our prior written consent.
16. Liability
16.1 We are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our failure to comply with these Terms or by our negligence, to the extent required by applicable law.
16.2 We are not liable for loss or damage that:
- was not reasonably foreseeable when you concluded the contract;
- arises from your own misuse of the products or failure to follow care/safety instructions;
- results from force majeure (see below).
16.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law.
17. Force Majeure
17.1 We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where this is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as:
- natural disasters, pandemics, extreme weather
- war, terrorism, strikes, government measures
- general disruptions in transport, logistics or telecommunications networks
17.2 If such a situation lasts longer than a reasonable period, both you and StadPaws may have the right to cancel the affected order. In that case, you will receive a refund for products you have not received.
18. Privacy & Personal Data
18.1 We treat your personal data with care and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch privacy law.
18.2 For details on which personal data we collect, how and why we process it, and your rights under the GDPR, please read our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
19. Changes to These Terms
19.1 We may update these Terms from time to time, for example if our services change or if legal requirements are updated.
19.2 The version of the Terms that applies to your order is the version in force at the time you placed the order. We recommend saving or printing a copy of the Terms together with your order confirmation.
19.3 Updated Terms will be published on the Site with a new “Last updated” date at the top.
20. Governing Law & Disputes
20.1 These Terms and any contracts between you and StadPaws are governed by Dutch law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules that are more favourable to you in your country of residence within the EU.
20.2 If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us first. We aim to resolve issues quickly and in a way that feels fair.
20.3 If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you may be entitled to use alternative dispute resolution (ADR) options available in your country or bring the matter before the competent Dutch court, all in line with applicable EU and Dutch consumer rules. (European Commission)
